Huntley family papers, circa 1745-1969, bulk circa 1880-1940.

This collection documents the families and business ventures of Tustin, California residents Helen Gulick and William M. Huntley. Materials include family photographs, photographs of Southern California, family correspondence, business records from the Tustin Garage and from the family's citrus orchard, household accounts, and other documentation related to both family history and the history of Tustin. The collection does not include any material related to William M. Huntley's political career as city councilman and mayor of Tustin. Helen Gulick and William M. Huntley collaborated on writing the history of their families and their community but did not bring the work to completion. The collection includes many of their notes, as well as the "Tustin Scrapbook," an unpublished manuscript prepared by Edna W. Phelps on the basis of these notes in 1969. Many of the photographs in the collection were taken by Alice Gooch.
